Candle Safety Tips:

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Extinguish candles when leaving the room or before going to sleep.

  • Carefully light candles, ensuring they're away from hair and loose clothing.

  • Do not use candles if you have home oxygen therapy.

  • Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before lighting.

  • Place candles away from drafts and air currents to maintain a steady flame.

  • Use sturdy, heat-resistant surfaces for candle holders.

  • Extinguish the candle if the flame gets too close to the holder or container.

  • Space candles at least 3 inches apart to prevent overheating.

  • Limit the burn time to a maximum of 4 hours at a stretch.

  • Stop using the candle when there's 1/2 inch of wax left in the container to ensure safety.

Initial Burn:

To start, burn your candle until the melted wax pool reaches the edges of the jar, which should take about 3-4 hours. This practice prevents excess wax buildup and the possibility of tunneling. If you notice a high flame or the container becomes too hot during the burn, simply extinguish the flame, let it cool down, trim the wick, and then relight it. Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours continuously.

Wick Trimming:

After the first burn, it's essential to trim the wick. Trim it to about 1/4 inch (approximately 6.35 mm). We recommend using wick trimmers. Avoid trimming the wick when the candle is lit or still hot, and the wax is melted, as this could cause injury. Properly trimmed wicks ensure that the candle burns correctly, maintaining a safe and appropriate flame height. Always place your candles on a heat-resistant surface in a secure, draft-free, and undisturbed area (and away from children and pets) with a moderate ambient temperature. Never leave candles unattended and adhere to the 4-hour maximum continuous burning guideline for safety.
